OpenKeychain helps you communicate more privately and securely. It uses high-quality modern encryption. Your messages can only be read by the people you send them to. Other people can send you messages too, and only you can read them; these messages are digitally signed so that their recipient is sure of the sender’s identity. OpenKeychain is based on a well-documented OpenPGP (PGP, GPG, or GnuPG) encryption standard that is compatible between its implementations on various devices and operating systems.
Modern encryption based on digital keys. OpenKeychain stores and manages your keys, tying the keys to the people in your contact list. Also it will help you to find other people’s keys on the Internet and exchange keys just by touching devices (QR codes). But the most common use is to use these keys to encrypt and decrypt messages.

Security experts summed up the final result “[…] none of the lit questions are not of critical severity from the point of view of security implications. This is a significant and impressive result for an application of such complexity and relevance.”
